Julie Banken describes herself as a garden ecologist. She is a certified bug lady with master’s degrees in both entomology and education. She loves the insects as much as the plants in her yard and has made it her mission to inspire others to feel the same. She has taught science both in the classroom and outdoors, and is glad for the opportunity to continue teaching as both a Master Gardener and a Xerces Society Ambassador.
